I struggled with anger and anxiety most of my life. What I didn’t realize is that I was living with PTSD. It affected my marriage and my relationship with my children. My emotions were entangled with others which caused me to lose perspective and have blurred boundaries.

I felt an overall sense of loneliness and struggled with doubt and speaking up for myself. Guilt and shame seemed to be in the driver’s seat and always in my rearview mirror. I lived with anger and resentment because I did not want help, but at the same time I felt a sense of helplessness.

I felt that if someone was displeased with me that it was my role to make them happy. I greatly feared making mistakes and so set about the task of trying to be perfect. Sadly, I wasn’t very good at it and felt the ever-present sense that I wasn’t good enough.

I knew that education was a key to my growth process. At various times I stepped out of my comfort zone to seek help from professional counselors. When I realized how the complex trauma from my past was influencing my thoughts and decisions and how that was directly influencing how my anger caused more stress in my home, I took the necessary steps that led me to heal and grow in resilience.

With God’s help I no longer experience the chronic anger and the underlying anxiety that accompanied my trauma. I have new skills and a better understanding of myself that help me be more resilient today.

As a life coach I want to support you to gain the skills that will enable you to relate and connect better with those most important to you. Moving forward is not always easy and so I offer to help bring encouragement and clarity while you step out into the creating new pathways in the brain that will enable you to live life in a new way.

I have come alongside other women as they have embraced the anger, uncertainty and fearful ways they were communicating. As we worked together, I had the honor to see them develop their skills to confront others, make decisions to set boundaries and be assertive.

I have witnessed how they made decisions that helped them gain a different view of themselves as having value to contribute to the world around them. Their courage inspires me to continue in my own journey to the heart of God.

I invite you on this journey to discover the realities that your personal experiences have formed within. Together we will find meaningful insight and purpose as we will begin to build and refine your ability to withstand and recover quickly from life’s stressors.

Why should we work together?

• I am a professional certified mental health coach under the American Association of Christian Counselors.

I am a professional certified dog trainer under Pat Miller which gives me an even better insight of not only dogs but humans as well.

• I have been a minister with Stephen Ministries, therefore have previously been vetted and with a background check.

• I strive to continue to be educated in mental health. And will be attaining more training with Natural Lifemanship in the coming year.

• I have been married to my sweet husband for 39 years and therefore have a lot of experience in doing things the hard way and learning better ways.

• We have two sons and a daughter-in-law. Both of our sons have dealt with learning disabilities, and one is on the Autism Spectrum. They experienced both public and homeschool. I have served as their advocate when needed.

• What makes me unique is that I am good at seeing the roots and patterns of behavior. I am patient while allowing you to move at your own pace. I bring my Poodle Riley into personal sessions where we work on purposeful connection and disconnection with an emphasis on trauma-informed care.

• I understand what it’s like to have children with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, and anxiety. I get the trauma triggers that underlie our behavior.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
— Ephesians 3:20-21
